Elder care

The wellness call your family wishes you made.

Every check-in call with an elderly resident — watched for signs of confusion, isolation, and medication trouble. Escalated when it matters. Summarized for the family.

You're probably doing this with

Care workers writing notes after each call — accurate but lossy. A weekly summary that travels up but rarely down. Family members who only learn about a change when they visit. Or no structure at all, just the worker's own judgment.

What Perceive8 watches on every call

  • Confusion indicators — time, place, and name disorientation
  • Medication mentions — adherence, side effects, refill timing
  • Isolation language — patterns in social references across calls
  • Mood baseline — week-over-week sentiment compared to that resident's normal
  • Physical complaint mentions — passing or repeated
  • Family contact frequency — referenced or absent

One alert worth the subscription

If a resident shows both confusion indicators and isolation language in the same call, notify the family contact and the on-call nurse with a transcript excerpt.

The family member who lives three time zones away knows the same day, not three weeks later.

What we're not

We're not a medical device, and we don't replace nursing judgment. We don't diagnose dementia or any other condition. We surface patterns that human care workers might miss between calls — and we treat every resident's voice with the same care your team does.

FAQ

How is resident consent handled?
Most US states require explicit consent for recording wellness calls. Perceive8's consent capture flow (available on HIPAA-adjacent accounts) lets you document verbal or written consent per resident, with revocation support. Your facility is responsible for compliance with your state's specific recording laws.
What about residents with diminished capacity?
For residents who cannot provide their own consent, consent from a legal guardian or healthcare proxy is required. Perceive8 supports proxy consent tracking in the consent management settings.
Who has access to the recordings?
Access is role-based. By default: facility admins, the assigned care worker, and any family contacts explicitly granted access. Perceive8 staff do not access recordings except to resolve a documented technical issue.
Does Perceive8 support languages other than English?
Yes. Transcription and analysis support English, Spanish, Hebrew, and Russian. Other languages are available on request. Quality varies by language — ask us for specifics before committing for a language-critical use case.
