Connect Google Workspace
A single Google sign-in connects Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Drive, and Google Meet. This is the most common first integration — it's what powers calendar sync and automatic meeting joins.
What you need
- A Google account (work or personal).
- Owner or admin access in your Perceive8 workspace.
Connect
- Go to Audio → Settings → Integrations.
- Find the Google Workspace card and click Connect.
- Choose your Google account, review the permissions, and click Allow.
- You're returned to the Integration Hub with a "Google connected" confirmation. The card now shows your Google email address.
That's it — Gmail, Calendar, Drive, and Meet are all covered by this one connection.
Exactly what Perceive8 can do
Perceive8 requests the minimum access needed per product:
| Product | Access | What it's used for |
|---|---|---|
| Gmail | Read-only | Reading email thread metadata to add context around deals and contacts. Perceive8 cannot send, draft, or delete email. |
| Google Calendar | Read and write | Reading upcoming events (for meeting auto-join) and creating events or Meet links when something is scheduled for you. |
| Google Drive | Read-only | Searching and reading files you point Perceive8 to, so Aria and agents can use them as context. Files are never modified. |
| Google Meet | Read-only | Seeing the Meet link on calendar events so the bot knows where to join. |
You can revoke this access at any time from your Google Account's security settings — see Disconnecting below.
Calendar sync and meeting auto-join
As soon as Google is connected, a Meeting auto-join section appears on the same settings page. From there you can see and control everything:
- Perceive8 syncs your calendar events for the next 48 hours and lists the ones with a Google Meet link.
- Each meeting has its own auto-join toggle — turn it off for any call the bot should skip.
- When auto-join is on, the bot knocks about 90 seconds before the start time. Admit it from the meeting lobby like any guest.
- A status chip shows where each meeting stands: scheduled, bot on its way, joined, failed, or skipped.
If the connection expires, the section pauses and offers a Reconnect Google button — one click resumes sync and auto-join.
For the full picture of how the bot behaves inside a meeting, see Joining meetings.
What Perceive8 does not do
- Send, draft, or delete email (Gmail access is read-only).
- Modify or delete your Drive files (Drive access is read-only).
- Store email bodies or file contents permanently — they're read as context, not archived.
- Join meetings you've toggled off.
Disconnecting
Click Disconnect on the Google Workspace card. This immediately stops calendar sync, meeting auto-joins, and all other Google access, and revokes the stored token. Existing transcripts, analyses, and reports are not affected. You can also remove Perceive8 from your Google Account permissions — the effect is the same.
Troubleshooting
- "Reconnect Google" is showing. The saved token expired or was revoked. Click it and approve the permissions again — your settings and toggles are preserved.
- A meeting didn't get a bot. Check that the event has a Google Meet link, starts within the next 48 hours, and has its auto-join toggle on.
- The bot knocked but never joined. It waits in the lobby like any guest — someone in the meeting must admit it.
- Permissions screen looks different than expected. Google sometimes asks you to approve scopes one by one. All listed scopes are required for the integration to work fully.
