Key concepts

The building blocks of Perceive8: workspaces, streams, analyses, playbooks, alerts, reports, and Aria.

Key concepts

Perceive8 turns conversations into structured, searchable, scored intelligence. This page explains the handful of concepts you will see everywhere in the product, so the rest of the docs — and the app itself — make sense faster.

Workspace

A workspace is your company's space in Perceive8. All of your meetings, uploads, analyses, playbooks, integrations, and team members live inside a workspace, and nothing is shared across workspaces.

  • Your first workspace is created automatically when you sign up, and you are its owner.
  • With automatic account setup, Perceive8 can create additional workspaces for functions like sales, support, and marketing.
  • You switch between workspaces from the workspace picker in the app header.

Capturing a conversation

There are two ways to get a conversation into Perceive8:

  • Live stream — the Perceive8 Notetaker bot joins your meeting (Google Meet) and streams audio in real time. You watch the transcript, alerts, and scores build live under Audio → Streams. See Joining meetings.
  • Upload — you upload an audio or video recording (a call, an interview, a voice memo). Perceive8 processes it asynchronously. See Uploading recordings.

Both paths end in the same place: an analysis.

Analysis

An analysis is the result of processing one conversation. It contains:

  • A timestamped transcript with speaker labels
  • A summary and key moments
  • Topics and entities (people, companies, products mentioned)
  • Sentiment and emotion insights
  • A score and findings, if a playbook was active
  • Action items and recommended next steps

Analyses live under Audio → Analyses. See Understanding your analysis for a full tour.

Playbook

A playbook is your scoring rubric: a named set of questions with categories and severities (INFO, WARNING, CRITICAL) that Perceive8 answers for every conversation. "Did the rep mention pricing?", "Was a consent disclaimer read?", "Was a follow-up scheduled?" — whatever matters to your business.

  • One playbook is active at a time per workspace; it applies automatically to new uploads and live streams.
  • You create playbooks by cloning a built-in template or asking Aria to build one.

See Scoring with playbooks.

Alert

An alert is a real-time signal raised during a live stream when something important happens — for example, a CRITICAL playbook question is triggered, a competitor is mentioned, or sentiment drops. Alerts appear in the live stream view and on the analysis afterwards, so you can react during the meeting, not after it.

Report

A report is the generated, shareable write-up of an analysis: an executive summary, an overall assessment, per-question findings with timestamped evidence, and recommendations. Reports are what you send to a manager or attach to a CRM record.

Aria

Aria is the AI assistant built into Perceive8. You can:

  • Chat with Aria about any analysis ("what did the customer object to?")
  • Ask Aria to build playbooks, generate reports, or set up your account
  • Address Aria by voice during a live meeting — say "Aria, what have we decided so far?" and it answers out loud

See Aria assistant.

Agents and boards

Beyond conversations, Perceive8 can run AI agents — autonomous workers that research, draft, and execute tasks on boards (shared task lists). Agents get their own isolated runtimes and can be provisioned automatically from your business profile. See Agent runtimes.
