Quickstart
Perceive8 turns your meetings, calls, and recordings into transcripts, speaker labels, sentiment scores, topics, entities, and actionable next steps. This guide walks you from sign-up to your first analyzed conversation using the Perceive8 web app.
1. Create your account
- Go to perceive8.com and click Start Free.
- Sign up with your work email or Google account.
- Perceive8 creates your first workspace automatically. You are the owner.
2. Complete your business profile (optional)
From Audio → Insights → Business Profile, tell Perceive8 about your company:
- Company name, industry, and size
- Products or services you sell
- Key competitors
- Employees and their roles
This helps Aria answer questions in your context, improves playbook scoring, and powers the automatic account setup feature. You can skip this and return later — see Business profile & automatic setup.
3. Connect your calendar
The easiest way to capture meetings is to let Perceive8 join them automatically.
- Go to Audio → Settings → Integrations.
- Connect Google Calendar or Outlook Calendar.
- Enable Meeting auto-join.
Perceive8 will sync your calendar and list upcoming meetings in the Meeting auto-join section, where you toggle which ones the bot joins. It knocks about 90 seconds before the scheduled start. See Joining meetings for platform details and admission behavior.
4. Join or upload your first conversation
Join a meeting manually
If you do not want to connect your calendar, or you are joining someone else’s meeting:
- Go to Audio → Streams.
- Click + Join Google Meet and paste the meeting URL.
- Choose a playbook if you want the conversation scored.
- Click Start and admit the Perceive8 Notetaker bot when it appears in the lobby.
The meeting appears under Audio → Streams as soon as the bot joins.
Upload a recording
- Go to Audio → Upload.
- Select an audio or video file (MP3, WAV, MP4, and more).
- Choose the language and click Upload.
The file appears under Audio → Analyses with a Processing status. Most recordings finish in under five minutes. See Uploading recordings for formats, limits, and quality tiers.
5. View the analysis
Open the completed analysis to see:
- Transcript with speaker labels and timestamps — click any line to jump to that moment
- Summary of the conversation
- Topics and entities mentioned
- Sentiment and emotion insights
- Score and findings (if a playbook is active)
- Alerts triggered during a live stream
- Action items and recommended next steps
You can search the transcript, play back from any moment, and ask Aria questions about the conversation in the side panel. See Understanding your analysis for a full tour.
6. Invite your team
- Go to Audio → Settings → Members.
- Click Invite member and enter an email address.
- Choose a role: Admin, Manager, or User.
Invited users can view analyses, collaborate on reports, and help manage integrations depending on their role. Invites expire after 7 days. See Inviting your team for role details and business-profile matching.
7. Connect a CRM or call provider
Perceive8 writes insights back into the tools you already use.
- HubSpot — sync contacts, deals, and call outcomes. See Connect HubSpot.
- Google Workspace — calendar, Gmail context, Drive files, and Meet links. See Connect Google Workspace.
- Microsoft 365 — Outlook, Calendar, OneDrive, SharePoint, and Teams. See Connect Microsoft 365.
- Aircall, RingCentral, Twilio — automatically ingest call recordings. See Available integrations.
8. Turn on scoring and Aria
Perceive8 can score every conversation against your rubric and answer questions out loud during meetings.
- Playbooks — go to Audio → Playbooks to clone a template or create one with Aria. Activate it to score new uploads and live streams automatically. See Scoring with playbooks.
- Aria — the voice assistant is enabled by default. During a meeting, say "Aria, what did we agree on?" to get a spoken recap. See Aria assistant.
9. Set up privacy and compliance
From Audio → Privacy, you can:
- Manage consent preferences (voiceprint analysis, third-party sharing, marketing)
- Request a full data export
- Request account deletion
- Review security and compliance documentation
Important: notify participants before recording any meeting — the bot joins visibly as Perceive8 Notetaker. See Privacy & consent essentials and Security overview for details.
